2001 Volvo S60 T5 Quick Drive ( Car Update )

This swede has a Turbocharged 2.3L DOHC VVT Inline 5 Cylinder which lays 247 HP down to the front wheels through a 5 speed auto ( With Manual Shift Mode ) I really enjoy this car. I love the fact that its actually lightweight (3350 lbs), comfortable & decent on gas.

Just bought a 2002 V70 Cross Country and it has leaking CV boots on both sides. Any tips on their replacement? Hope you’re still liking yours

how is the interior quality in comparison to the lincoln?
Very nice. She needs a full wash and wax though
@Intechdude300 At least you have the best one
lol
@Intechdude300 Wire it to the rear fog light switch? Please tell me how that goes.. I really want to have fog lights.
Any chance you have connections to a chop-shop? I need to buy a trim piece for the front defrost.
Oh wtf, switched already? Nice car though, even 247 HP sounds like quite a lot to be honest. And It seems you have a fetish for 5 cylinder cars
@scaremengaviation Yeah but I’m just gonna find some OEM style knockoffs that are a direct fit & hide the switch somewhere or buy a new switch thats better looking & doesn’t look so out of place in the interior….
@Intechdude300 Haha.. same here. Was like WTF?? I was going to have front fogs installed, but you have to take it to a Volvo dealership to “flash” the computer into accepting them, or something silly like that.
@scaremengaviation IDK, every Volvo I’ve encountered had rear fogs. Maybe I just wasn’t aware they they make ‘em without it too…. Yet my car doesn’t have front fogs
@Intechdude300 Really? Because SaabKyle reviewed an ’03, and it only had front fog lights. And the other two/three S60′s I looked at only had front fog lights as well.
@Dunoj Not really, it’s because theres not a huge difference between the 2 + having 1 cyl extra. Only advantage with the turbos is that you have instant low-end toque & you don’t have to rev the car that hard to get it going or keep ongoing momentum. Both engines would be dog slow if it wasn’t for them
@Intechdude300: I’m guessing that’s because they both have turbos.
@Dunoj Difference isn’t much
@Intechdude300: Honestly I think I’d take the S40 over the S60 since it’s a smaller and I’m guessing a bit more economical.
@scaremengaviation Yes, I thought that was something all volvos had
@Intechdude300 Oh. Just a side question, does your car have a rear fog light switch? Mine does..
@Dunoj Yes,but he like my S60 more for the comfort & softer ride. Buts it’s a fun little car to boogie around on the highway & get away from other cars in tight situation.
My cousin has a gold ’02 S60 that he loves. I like the styling but the main downsides are a tight rear seat and rather large turning radius. Is the s40 your dad’s?
Too bad about the jetta
my dad bought one last year and its been problem free so far and its a pretty enjoyable car to drive. That volvo is pretty kick ass though!
I’ve always really liked how these looked. The design was well ahead of its time. They still look fresh now
@hondaftw1234 Now worries LOL
There is no way in hell I’m retyping that last comment I made
Too long.
There should be an RDX coming my way soon, my dad has to come through. If only lol.
nice car
@scaremengaviation Mmmm, not aware of of these going out. Turbos do last longer nowadays. I do see 2007 model Saabs with screwed Turbos quite often. I’ve only seen a 2002 Volvo S40 years ago with a bad turbo where the car smoked like crazy & was dog slow. Car barely wanted move.
