Photography – How To Get out of Auto

froknowsphoto.com When many people start in photography they start off shooting in full auto because they are afraid to venture into manual. In this video you will see how easy it is to go from auto into manual. There is honestly nothing to be afraid of. You can use auto as a way to lead you into manual. The auto settings will get you close and the manual settings will give you more control. To see the full res images please click here froknowsphoto.com

Hey I should ask, was the D-lighting active for those shots?
Wow, your grandma has a great sense of humour. Thanks for the information.
PS: The sofa and Lil it seems are the very best of friends
6:58 “it’s nice and sharp even with this lens, a sigma” lol
Do you have a video that explaines why you dont like to crop. Non cropping vs cropping?
I never used to crop till I started shooting weddings with someone and he takes the picture with extra space just so he has room to crop.
I know how to fully use manual already I just watched this because I love FroKnowsPhoto
@jonty3000 and feel free not to call people bra
Jard, this tutorial totally put it all in perspective for me. Awesome way to approach manual mode! Just signed up to the forums. Now how about sending me one of those Black Rapids?
Great information, well explained. Thanks!
Oh, you’re playing GTA IV?
Thank you for posting his video Jared, I just bought a D3100 kit & 35mm 1.8 and I’m very happy with the D3100 system. After seeing your video, I’ve been using the Guide Mode as a starting point, then switch to Manual Mode and adjust the settings like iso, exp, and ss to my liking. I’ve learn a lot so far using this method. I enjoy your videos very much, keep up the great work.
You don’t even have to take a shot just press the shutter button half way and remember the settings in auto then just play with the settings in manual-
Your house looks so chill Jared! So comfy!
i thought you show us some possibilities how to get out of an auto / car for paparazzi
Jared or anyone for portraits do you recommend choosing a single focus point on the camera to make sure it gets the eyes? Because on my 550D on multiple focus points it hardly ever gets the eyes and they are slightly out of focus. thanks
Poor Lil, the sun was in her eye while doing the puzzle. She tried so hard. That is one cool grandma, I wish my grandma was still alive!
Great tips..I never thought of that
Did you trim your mane?
Could you please explain the Whole stops, half stop?
@numex106 its not. i miss spoke.
how is 1/20 to 1/80 one stop?
Would the settings still give you the same results if its not a DSLR camera? My digital camera has manual settings (ISO,f-stop, Shutter Speed) that I can change but will I notice as much of a difference when changing the settings on a DIgital camera as I would with a DSLR?
6 people won’t be able to shoot in manual mode EVER.
that camera shoots 1600 like the d3s shoots 10000
LoL you are like me, when I need a subject… I can always find an elder to model for me to do some camera testing. If only I have fashion model to practice shooting.
