Replacing Gearbox Oil in a Nissan Skyline R33 Manual Gearbox
This video shows the steps in draining the old oil out of and getting new oil into the manual gearbox of a R33 Nissan Skyline. Please note, I show on this video to use a funnel and pipe, the easier option is definitely to spend the money and buy a gearbox oil pump, it will make the job much faster! This video will probably be applicable to most rear wheel drive manual gearboxes. Hope this is of some help to anyone considering this job.

Even the cats like Skyline, nice video!
can some one help my with my skyline r33 gts25t i change gear box oil to 75w-90 and engine oil i heared nois fro mgear box what doest it mean???
@RustyXIII Thanks, very good advice there! To be honest the funnel system did not work brilliantly, when I did the whole gearbox filling thing again on my 4WD I bought one of those oil pumps, works way way better and faster. Cheers
Nice funnel system. But ALWAYS loosen the fill plug FIRST. You’re pretty much screwed when you find out after draining the tranny fluid that the fill plug is seized on tight, especially when you’re doing it the first time.
Thanks for the vid, but I’m confused because I’ve been told so much that the skyline is illegal in my state (U.S) but I don’t know whether they meant the r32, r33, r34 or all of them… I think that’s only if it has modifications?, because my old buddy got a fine for his R34 or from what I’ve been told. I want this car so bad >__>
Non Turbo ? lol
and then after u fill ur gear box with oil u got urself a beer bong
Yeah, had endless comments along the same line. The skyline used to be high enough off the ground that I could lie on my back underneath it without jacking it up at all. The only purpose of the trolley jack in this video was to level the car out for draining and refilling. If I jacked it up high enough to sit on axle stands it would be uneven and would not drain or refill properly. Thanks for the comment.
so what happens when the jack fails and the whole car falls on top of you ? could you please post a video of what to do when that happens ? but really man im a mechanic and you NEVER get under the car when it is not supported by axel stands! if it falls on you your dead.
hahahah lol @ the cat
You are my new hero
gonna work on my own R33 next week
this is so helpfull! thnx!!!!!!!! <– ThnX!!!
does it work with every car??
i love your car!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Axel stands! I would never trust a trolley jack. Thanks for the tutorial.
